Little League this week

You can catch the semifinals of the Little League Softball World Series live Tuesday night, Aug. 12, on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (Eastern U.S. Time).

The Little League Softball World Championship game on Wednesday, Aug. 13, also will be televised live on ESPN2, at 7 p.m. Eastern.

The Little League Softball World Series is played at Alpenrose Field in Portland, Ore. This is the 35th year that a girls' softball team will be crowned in the 11-12-year-old division of Little League.

This year's Little League Softball World Series features teams from Italy, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canada, and six U.S. states (Texas, Oregon, New Jersey, California, Illinois and South Carolina). All four of the softball world championship games are being televised nationally.

Also, tonight's final Little League Baseball Regional championship game can be seen on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. Eastern, as the state champions from Hagerstown, Md. (Hagerstown Federal Little League), and from Devon, Pa., (Devon Strafford Little League) square off.
