Brewers v. Arroyo

Brewers need 2 of 3 (from every series, from now on, always) in Cincy. That starts tonight against a spotty Bronson Arroyo. He's got sort of a 1 bad, 2 good thing going on this year, and the Brewers catch him on the second good start in this little pattern. Hopefully the Crew can knock that little pattern askew.

Fielder, Cameron and Hardy all have an OPS of 1.0 of higher in 10 or more at-bats against Arroyo. (1.002, 1.272, 1.273 respectively).

Counsell, Branyan and Hall have not fared well, with Hall appearing to be completely baffled by Bronson. (.718, .666, .489). However, Branyan only has 6 PA, while Counsell has 13. Hall, who has 17, has struck out 11 times against Arroyo. If he is in the lineup something is seriously f'd up.

Mike Rivera has faced him twice and has a home run and a double. Mike Rivera should be in the lineup regardless, but his tiny sample size and Kendalls struggles (.551 OPS in 19 PA) reinforce this fact.

Rickie Weeks has been pitiful (.259, 16 PA) but Durham has not been much better (.408, 13 PA). Corey Hart has been pretty shitty in 10 PA, but Kapler has never faced Arroyo.

So, the lineup today should be as follows:

Counsell - 2B
Hardy - SS
Braun - LF
Fielder - 1B
Branyan - #b
Hart - RF
Rivera - C
Cameron - CF

We'll see how Yost plays it in a couple hours. (All numbers above in quick and easily comparable OPS unless otherwise noted).
