The Rest of the month after the All-Star Break

I am not going to do my Mid Season report card yet. But I will look forward to the rest of the month.

The Brewers will come out of the break playing 3 games in The City by the Bay (No you Favre-crazed Packers fans, the other bay) San Francisco. The Giants are not that good but they were not that good last season when they swept the Brewers in Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T Park. That has to be avoided and my guess is we will catch Lincecum one of the games depending how much he pitches in the AS game. But I am guessing CC and Sheets and Parra will be the first 3 out of the gate for the Crew so they should be able to take 2 of 3 setting up another huge deja vu series when they go to St Louis for 4 games.

Everyone will remember what happen last year when the Brewers went to St Louis in July with a chance to give the Cards a death blow. They won big Friday them Gagged up a 6 run lead in Manny Parra's first start as a Brewer in game one of a doubleheader and I believe they went on to lose 3 of 4 in that series. They have a chance to put some distance between them and the Cards in the WC division if they can go in and take 3 of 4 from them.

Yes, this will be a massive road trip right out of the shoot.

Then they come home for what might be the biggest home stand of the years so far. First they have 3 against a Houston team that is struggling but then comes the first visit to Miller Park from the The Best Team In Baseball As Per ESPN. They play 4 against the Cubs to end the month. Who knows who will be in first place by that series, but either way it will give them a chance to either gain ground or distance themselves from TBTIBAPESPN.

There will be a lot going on over the rest of the month of July, so rest up over these 3 days off, refill your cooler or fridge and lets get ready for what might be the best 2nd half of baseball we have had in this town in over 25 years.

I could get used to this still being in it at the All-Star Break Thing ;)

Hurray Beer,
Chris
